This course provided an understanding of various technologies that are available to education.  While many of the technology wasn't specifically for education, it showed how you could adapt something and use it in education.  The take away was a vast knowledge of how to ulitize the technology in the world for education. Through the creation of a StAIR, I was able to gain a better understanding of critical thinking skills and the use of action mazes to develop this skill.

This course taught the basis for educational research.  While it did have a great deal of statistical analysis, it provided insight into what issues are currently around in education. In general, this course was more challenging than previous courses.  The challenge came from the statistical work that needed to be done.  This course did teach me the key elements for conducting educational research and how to apply the information. While in this course I conducted research on how Dual Credit courses.  The information gathered can be used to support educational issues that face my district and students.

As a culmination of everything I have learned in the MAET program, the Capstone course provided a way to synthesis everything.  Through the creation of an online portfolio I was able to synthesize the information that I learned in the program thereby discovering everything I learned.  This was good because I was able to identify each individual objective from the courses.

This course was very helpful because it provided a foundtation to what exactly the MAET program was about.  It served as an introduction to the overall program as well as introducing key elements of the program.  These elements were Google Docs, TPACK and PLN.  From this course I was also introduced to the true definition of Educational Technology.

CEP 812 was about to to apply technology to solve problems that may arise in education.  As the world changes, education must adapt to really reach students.  From this course I learned how to take existing technology and adapt it to the classroom so that I can truly reach my students.  One such technology was a blog.  I had never done a blog and only viewed them as one sided.  By the end of the course I saw the educational application a blog can have.  This course allowed me to see how I can better reach my students who are growing up online.

Being able to understand how psychology and education relate is crucial. Being able to add technology into the equation allows for a teacher to be more effective.  This course explored the value of learning, the evaluation of technology for learning and much more.  In this course I discovered how project based learning can be influential for student learning.  Another concept that this course dealt with was understanding student understanding. From this I was able to learn how to evaluate how students are currently using technology and how to use that technology to enhance their learning.

Science is not the subject that I teach, however, to be effective in the course I do teach and inline with my overall career obejctives I needed to know how to effectively use technology to teach science.  This course  taught me just that.  One aspect of the course that I particularly found informative were the using Facebook for course discussions. This was just the beginning of the ideas and concepts that I learned.  Another takeaway I got from the course was how my students us the interent as a resource for learning.  While not just focusing on science but rather how I can apply the ideas I have learned and already know to every subject.

As the world of education incorporates technology it becomes more important that leaders understand how to lead with technology. This course covered a variety of topics ranging from the history of technology, the goals of education, and overall leadership.  Through this I was able to gain a greater understanding of instrument and missional thinking and how to apply them to the world of education.  This course also had me use technology for professional purposes.  Creating the leadership tweets was challenge and required me to show my true understanding of leadership styles.

Dr. Ralph Putnam

Being able to use existing technology to help support math is crucial. Math is generally one of the subjects students struggle with.  This course explored various technology that is available for additional support in teaching math.  While not limiting to only physical technology but also to various softwares and web-based tools available.  This course was mostly a discussion based course that allowed a sharing of ideas that was crucial to learning. Being able to discuss the concepts allowed for an unique learning experience.

Dr. Anne Heintz

After taking online courses, being able to develop and create an online course was crucial for the MAET degree.  This course taught the fundamental ideas about what goes into creating an effective online course where students can truly walk away having learned something.  This course also introduced me to the developer's notebook.  While the developer's notebook is a working of ideas, it did show me that not all notes have to be pen and paper.  This showed that there is a seamless transition between using non-technology and using technology. The course I created for this class is one that can be used by my district but I learned that there is never being 100% done with creating an online course.  Just like with teaching in the classroom, there is a constant change and evolution that takes place.
